We include free with every room a chaperoned viewing of our little penguins from our PENGUIN VIEWING PLATFORM The little guys inhabit the Resort all year round and return each evening to enchant you.

We even have a PRIVATE DINING ROOM (PDR) to impress the most discerning of diners. The East Coast boasts the best young wines and we have the best of them for you to choose.

Our PAMPER DAY SPAallows you to unwind and be pampered from head to toe. If you still have time, play Tennis, Ping Pong or Billiards; swim in the heated outdoor pool, rock climb, or play golf on the 9 hole course just up the road. Perhaps you will just sit on a balcony and savour our

MAGNIFICENT VIEWS. We even have a library and a video section and flat screened TV and DVD in every Villa.

You can make us your base and explore from Coles Bay and the Hazards to the south, to St Helens and Bay of Fires to the north and still be back in time for a massage and dinner in front of a log fire. WOW, This is very close to paradise on the magnificent East Coast of Tasmania.

Tasmania’s East Coast is brimming with good things to eat, the range and quality of local produce is extraordinary. These ingredients, plus the talents of one of Tasmania’s finest chefs, help create an unforgettable dining experience. The Diamond Island Resort has a fully licensed restaurant- Facets which specialises in the best of the local Tasmanian produce – fresh fish, shellfish, olives, dairy products and seasonal fruit and vegetables, and you can choose a fine Tasmanian or mainland wine from an extensive list to complement your meal.

But it takes more than good produce to make an exceptional meal. Our Chef Noel is proud to present the Coast's most fantastic food in the Coast's most fantastic location. Coupled with our local wines, this will be an unforgettable dining experience. Local Crayfish, Abalone, Oysters, Scallops, Mussels, Aged Beef and finfish all feature on our ever - changing menu.

Our slant on local produce is unique; the majority of our menu is sourced from within 45 minutes of your table. With a “rogue’s gallery” of our local suppliers on the wall, there is a story to tell from the supplier, to the kitchen, to the plate..

We do things a little differently here!

Firstly, our Chef is a local identity who lives at the resort with his family. Noel is committed to fresh produce, local seafood and meat and herbs fresh from our own garden.

Our staff will show you our Private Dining Room (PDR) on request which may be reserved for a special dinner for 2 to 12 persons. Noel will design a special dinner also on request during your stay with us

The Spa is open all year round for individual/couple "Sauna Plus Spa" packages. Private use package is $120.00 for 2 hours. During peak times we also offer massage and facials by appointment.

Our Environment and Penguins!

We share our ocean frontage with a little penguin (Eudyptula minor) rookery at the bottom of the garden – a unique setting for our 4.5 star apartments. Included in your tarif is access to our own penguin viewing deck, and its heated!!

Walk to Diamond Island

Check with reception on arrival for low tide times for an unforgettable experience exploring the wonders of Diamond Island Nature Reserve.

Golf

Bicheno Golf Club is a 5 minute drive from Diamond Island. This picturesque 9 hole Public Golf Course is open all year round. Golf Club hire is available.

East Coast Natureworld

This Nature park, including the new Devilworld, is a 5 minute drive from Diamond Island. It is a sanctuary for birds, snakes, wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, koalas and the infamous Tasmanian Devil. Feeding times vary, but the park is Open every day.

Local wineries

Our local area is peppered with the finest East Coast wineries, all within a 30 minute drive from Diamond Island. Tastings available daily, or take an organized Wine Tour through the “Grape Escape”.

The world famous Wineglass Bay, in the Freycinet National Park, is a 35 minute drive from Diamond Island. Walks from the car park to the lookout and return take around 1 ¼ hours, to the beach and return around 2 hours.

Adventure Kayaking with Freycinet Adventures, 4 wheel motorbike tours with All 4 Adventure, picturesque Cruising around the Freycinet area through Freycinet Sea Cruises, a leisurely walk around the foreshore to Bicheno Township, Aquariums, Oyster farm tours, 3 wheel open road trike tours through Le Frog Tours, an abundance of National Parks, excellent restaurants – you are sure to need 2 nights to explore this wonderful areaontent
